Today marks the start of Britain's most fashionable sporting event, Royal Ascot. With strict guidelines on dress length and hat size, Ascot is definitely more famous for its hats than its horses.Steeped in tradition, the event is attended by the Royal family each year including Her Majesty the Queen, who will of course steal the show with her elegant hat collection.We thought that it would be fitting to put together a selection of the most striking hats from our archives.All images used on the Leslie Creasey Blog are from my hand clipped archive documenting 40 years of Style and Design media.
