MAXMARA 80'S

 

Max Mara was originally named House of Max Mara being formed in 1951 by Achille Maramotti who was born in 1927 in Reggio Emilia which is midway between Parma and Modena.

Achille went to Parma University where he gained a law degree.

We read that Achille Maramotti was very keen to solely promote the name of the brand Max Mara although he did have visiting acknowledged designers passing through his atelier of note.  On a very different scale when it comes to quality and price  M&S's stance on branding and sub branding  followS a similar mantra. Somewhat different to the marketing philosophies of H&M and Topshop!!


Achille was obviously a brilliant business man and stuck very rigidly to his core principles of good design, wonderful cut, a great selection of fabrics and materials and quality, quality and more quality.

COATS have always been an ongoing 'basic' in their offer.
