March into Harrods
Having been about a few years and being the inveterent 'paper clipper' that I am I was trawling my archives this morning and for no particular reason picked out some Harrods adverts March 1975.
Every time I carry out this research exercise it takes me down memory lane and the inevitable 'joining the dots'
Harrods - Lord Fraser of Allander, Sauciehall St. Glasgow, Hugh Fraser, gambling problem, Tiny Rowlands, Mohamed al Fayed, the Shark, Sultan of Brunei, £7oo million, selling off House of Fraser that was within the Harrods Group, perpetual refurbishing of every department of the Knightsbridge Store, Dodi, Diana, Fulham Football Club, sale to the Quatar Sovereign Wealth Fund ,ever increasing profits and still the major mecca for any overseas visitor coming to London.
Possibly you're able to pick up my TIME LINES in this and previous blogs in that through daily clipping and reading all areas of Style and Design and associated sectors such as here with Retail my memory automatically joins a sequence of events going back over the years ' - joining the dots'.
Iwould say that my habit of 'showing off' by quoting the associated time lines to anything that's said by a member of my family can cause consternation and despair and even the 'cupping of hands' to suggest that I'm name dropping !!!
