Could Bradley Wiggins be the next Lance Armstrong?

Do we believe that Bradley Wiggins success yesterday will set a path for him to match Lance Armstrong?

Lance Armstrong 1971 is an American road racing cyclist who is most known for overcoming illness and winning multiple Tour De France races.

Although his life sounds like a well thought out script it is in fact true. Lance Armstrong is one of the most inspirational sportsmen in the world who has achieved great success by having determination and drive to succeed, something we could all learn from.

He began running and swimming at age 10 which eventually led to him competing in triathlons at age 13 and became a professional triathlete at 16. Armstrong later decided to focus on just cycling any in 1989 he was invited to train with the Olympic development team.

The early nineties saw Lance qualify for the junior world team and placed 11th in the World Championship Road Race, with the best time of any American since 1976. The same year he became the  U.S. national amateur champion and won the First Union Grand Prix and the Thrift Drug Classic. Lance went on to compete at an international level winning races across the globe.

In October 1996, Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with testicular cancer which has spread to his brain and lungs that same year he founded the Lance Armstrong foundation, now named livestrong which promotes cycling to young children in America.

After his recovery he went on to win Tour De France 7 consecutive times (1999-2005) and in 2006 he ran the new york marathon raising $600,000 for his charity.
