Rifat Ozbek

Rifat Ozbek

Having arrived here in the UK in 1970 from Turkey and subsequently having the cachet of being a Central St Martin's graduate the world was his oyster.

Rifat worked for Monsoon out of Italy and then established his own label RIFAT OZBEK showing in Milan, New York and Paris.

Having started as an architectural student at St Martins he has been able to use these skills with interior designs and has recently been very involved in designing the interior of Robin Birley's private members club in London.

Similarly he has orchestrated and designed his own sumptuous property in Bodrum.

Rifat is now developing a range of exotically designed cushions under the brand name YASTIK.To my understanding of indigenous Turkish designs particularly in ceramics as found in Iznik pottery one can see where Rifat could well have been influenced with this new home line.
