In 1970 Kenzo opened his first show, opened his first store 'Jungle Jap' and in 1971 he showed his collection in New York and Tokyo. In the early eighties he launched his first menswear collection and in the late eighties he created his first fragrance named Kenzo De Kenzo. Flower by Kenzo was released in 2000 and became the iconic fragrance for the brand; a skin care range was later released in 2001 called KenzoKl.
Kenzo Takada announced his retirement in 1999, leaving assistants in charge of his fashion house but in 2005 he reappeared as a decoration designer presenting 'Gokan Kobo' a brand of home wares and furniture.
The Kenzo mission statement is "To instill a real joy of living and convey a new freshness to the brand, while at the same time continuing to surprise and to shake up the ‘jungle’ of fashion."
We have hundreds of Kenzo adverts in our archive and we decided to share some with you...
