WHO DO YOU THINK WE ARE?

WHO DO YOU THINK WE ARE?

We're often and regularly asked as to "what our archives and business are  all about?"

A random selection of what the archives have to offer is seen below

THOMAS HEATHERWICK

The quick and simple answer is that we've been brand marketing and strategy advisers internationally, particularly in the STYLE and DESIGN sectors, for the last 35/40 years and as part of our daily research we clipped all the broad sheets and magazines regarding the different sectors in which our clients operated and filed them in a particular way for easy and chronological access.

Our brand marketing and strategy advisory business has recently had clients such as shown below

However our future is going to be that of a wonderful on line website that accesses our truly novel and in depth archives that will cater for all of us that are interested in this magical research archive.

Now that our principal is in his mid seventies we're in the process of morphing the advisory and archiving businesses in to one entity which will be called LeslieCreasey.com where the main activity will be to expand our archiving activities to the benefit of social media platform users and in turn students, researchers and the curious.

We have some 1.5 million images covering all sectors of Style and Design including Fashion, Art, Architecture, Photography, Ceramics, Glass, Retail, Restaurants, Entrepreneurs, USA, Japan, Brazil, Australia

Part of our library of some 2000 books on all aspects of design that complement our archives

This is where the 'hard copy' images after 'clipping' are initially archived in hanging folders in some  50 +, 4 drawer  filing cabinets that are categorised by section, name, brand, discipline, country and year and all being filed in chronological order prior to scanning and encoding

The use of our images taken from our LeslieCreasey.com archives  all  fall within the 'Fair Use' principles relative to education and research.

One of our country's leading design influences has seized on the value of what we've got here

Whilst Terence was Provost at The Royal College of Art in Kensington he very kindly appraised the content and value of my archives for education and research and wrote the following

“What Leslie Creasey has accumulated since he first began taking press clippings 35 years ago is a truly remarkable achievement – he is part historian, part sociologist and part librarian. But his greatest accomplishment, and Leslie’s gift to us all, is the content of his planned website which brings this encyclopedic catalogue and hundreds of thousands of articles and press photography to life. It is an invaluable resource that will enthral and educate students, press officers, researchers, scholars, scientists, designers, anthropologists and, like me, those with an inquisitive nature. The site that is nearly ready for launch has been brilliantly designed – not only does it look great, it is easy to use and functions perfectly allowing you to navigate through several decades of contemporary history. The cuttings have been remarkably preserved and the photography is clear. Whether for work, education or just curiosity this website is a serious almanac of recent times and I cannot recommend its worth highly enough.”
